Oakland/Berkeley Accomodations

If you're staying on in SF for a while, I think you can figure that out.

If you're interested in staying in the East Bay, there are a number of good mainstream options: I am assuming you have a car if you're staying out here.

Emeryville:
This town at the base of the Bay Bridge has a number of major chain hotels, Hyatt House, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn and Four Points. These are all good options with good access to the rest of the Bay Area, and are often reasonably priced with easy parking.

I would avoid the hotels slightly to the south, including Extended Stay America.

Oakland:
Marriott Convention Center: parking may be expensive, but a big hotel with the usual amenities
Courtyard Oakland Downtown: they have parking too

Berkeley:
Doubletree by Hilton at the Marina.

More suburban environments:
Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Concord (Contra Costa County)
These small cities will have a lot of mainstream options along the CA-24, 242 and I-680 highways, in a much more easygoing environment. They are all about 15-20 min from my house if no traffic.
